Car Break-Ins on the Rise in Twin Peaks

Photo of a "smash-and-grab" theft, similar to recent incidents in Twin Peaks.

There have been car break-ins in Twin Peaks, with two reported in the past week. The most recent occurred early in the morning on 2/16/25, between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m., near Rose Lane and Lake Forest Drive. The thief shattered a passenger-side window, but unfortunately, there was no security footage captured. A neighbor’s motion sensors were triggered at the time, and while law enforcement offered to take a report over the phone or send an officer, no arrest has been made.

Another break-in happened last Friday, where thieves broke a rear vehicle window and stole valuable baseball equipment. This is now the third reported break-in in a short period, raising concerns among locals about vehicle security. Some residents are considering installing cameras to help prevent future thefts.

To protect your car from getting broken into, always lock your doors and roll up your windows, even if you’re only stepping away for a short time. Avoid leaving valuables in plain sight—if you have to, keep them out of view or take them with you. Park in well-lit, busy areas and think about using anti-theft devices like steering wheel locks or alarms. Stay aware and report any suspicious activity to help prevent break-ins in our community.

It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with a break-in—my own plumbing truck was recently targeted. It’s a reminder that we all need to look out for each other. If you’re in Twin Peaks and need a reliable plumber, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help with all your plumbing needs!
